The Trinity blend uses organic herbs, but 3 of the ingredients are in powdered form, which makes a thicker brew than our regular Essiac because the powder is very difficult to strain from the final product (some of our customers prefer these herb particles remain). The essiac herbs are a combination of well known medicinal herbs. These are used in specific proportions to formulate the Essiac herb tea. The commonly used mixture includes burdock root (Arctium lappa L.), slippery elm bark (Ulmus fulva/Ulmus rubra), sheep sorrel (Rumex acetosella L.), and either Indian or Turkey rhubarb root (Rheum palmatum L.). It is believed this formulation has roots in the traditional medicine of Canada’s Ojibwa people. Each of the individual elements of essiac herbal tea boast a history of medicinal applications.
